My boyfriend lied about his education

Please advice a friend of mine. Her boyfriend of 6months has been lying to her about his educational background and she just found out that he's an ND holder and has been feeding her with lies for the past months. He claim he doesn't want to lose her that was why he lied, the problem now is that the lady is a graduate and almost rounding her master's program and her family wouldn't accept anything less than a graduate.should she remain in the relationship?
